Just Three Amigos were still being on the receiving end of amazing hospitality for day 27 & 28 of the Giveback 100.
The Durans said we could stay for more time, and we were looking at ways in which we could re-pay this and giveback more than money, because they wouldn’t take any money from broke travellers!
Luckily for us, Luis Duran had an on-going project in is garden. Now we haven’t got much gardening experience between us, in fact im not sure we have any, but in true J3A fashion, we were willing to try and help and give it a go!
Day 27 saw us grafting our way around the garden. Cipa and Jimbo were working away at varnishing some pallets that needed cleaning and revamping. Whilst Damo was busy digging up a section of the garden that Luis needed to relay some turf!
It was a great day of work for us, as we got some exercise out of it and it was good to make progress of a project and of course help out.
Day 28 saw us back in the garden giving back our time and energy to help Luis with the garden project.
Today, was the more technical day, as we had to hang the pallets that we varnished yesterday onto the wall in the garden.
With limited gardening, and hanging pallet up experiences between us we did our best to make sure we did a good job.
Jimbo on the tools
It was good to get the tools out, as we hadn’t been ‘on the tools’ since our giveback in Nicaragua.
In the end, we did a great job and Luis was more than happy with it! This is now the next step of the project done for him, which he anticipate to be done by July! So it was great to show our gratitude an repay the Durans with some manual work!
If anyone has any ideas on how we can give back and volunteer in different ways then please get in touch with us on Social Media as we want to help as many communities as possible and inspire many more people to GIVEBACK!!!
